I remember "encounters" in the arndale centre.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Remember we got there early and went for a wander to see what was about but no matter what direction we went there was nothing of note.

At the time although quite bemused as why a James Taylor lookalike would resort to such tactics... Couldn't have had domestic bliss before he left his semi!!

That's the one gents. I remember that day like yesterday had been out in West Ealing in I think the Drayton the night before until early hours at a party. Not sure why I went home as got no more then couple of hours kip then got woken abruptly looked at time and though oh s hit got 45mins to get to bush and catch the coach. Got to vale and it really was like an abandoned country. As said earlier went for a wander and the locals were straight on it and after the game was a proper free for all not for the faint hearted those there will know what im getting at

Remember that dude doing the pitch and heading straight for the vale fans whole away end was roaring giving it 'go on go on' then wallop as he reached them. If memory serves me right were the horses not surrounding the pitch well before the final whistle or am I imaging it???

                      • You know what I am going to throw Bristol City in the mix as well. Done it loads of times and every time you get around Ashton Gate the surrounding area has declined a little bit more. Horrible trek from the station to the ground and if you get involved in the escort after the game you looking at an hour easily being frog marched back to the station along the river

Bristol fans never the most hospitable either so the worst of both worlds

                        • Remember a long walk back to the station with an escort one year and '30pence' kept popping up. Was either the year before or after when I got involved in blue on blue outside the away end after the game.

And remember there was fighting outside the away end after the game. Used to go to the drayton some sunday mormings for a game of cards with my uncles-early 90's.
