Why is this site hated by so many R supporters

Ah..the history of QPR messagboards I could write a book...

I remember when it was the .org run by Battletank or the official .co.uk forums. I think those two were the originals. This was 1997 or so

I think there are cliques on all messageboards. There certainly was one at qprdot.org last time I was there. I left that messageboard when it became the private province of Drew Garro, and not the free and open forum it had been under Battletank. At the time of all the Paladini stuff this messageboard got a lot of bad press on other boards for its perceived backing of Paladini and in particular the relationship between Pete and Paladini. That's when it got the nickname Fantasy Island. I think there was a tendency among fans on other boards to look down at WATRB because of that and the stigma seems to have stuck. It was a long time before I ventured on here, and then I discovered it had broadly the same kind of demographic as the other boards, but its own, unique flavour. I would say this is the most reactionary messageboard, certainly has the more overtly extreme political views and has more right-wing posters than any other board. You only have to look at the current poll in the 'Off Topic' section to see that.

However, this board also entertains lively, robust and honest debate and is, to my mind, the least middle class of all the boards. I think new viewers might be frightened off by some of the posters, you certainly need a thick skin on here!

Haha - as I said, this site has a broad demographic, but with a right-wing bias... also a fair few libertarians like yourself, free-thinkers, socialists, greens and 'none of the aboves'....
