Then we have to lose someone from the middle where we are already being completely outplayed or leave Charlie without a target man to play alongside. I think he wd need to offer a hell of a lot more than he currently does to make that worthwhile.Comment

Got to agree his form doesn't warrant taking a place in the 25 from some one elseWhy? He has played half a dozen games and been shocking in all of them. Wd you drop Vargas who has been one of the few semi bright sparks in our season just to give him a "run of games"? Don't get why Philips is suddenly seen as the new messiah. Thought he was pretty average for us in the championship too. Its Jamie Mackie re-visited...Last edited by dogsrrs; 27-01-2015, 10:59 AM.Comment

hes appeared 5 times in the prem for us this year and two times that has been as a striker. Hardly been a consistent player in the first 11 and not been given a chance in his preferred position.
This is where it gets annoying when words like messiah are used. No one has said that but he deserves a crack and a chance. He looks a hell of a prospect when we signed him and has struggled with injury and now Harry just doesn't fancy him.
I personally just think the lads got something about him and I understand from playing a decent level of football that confidence can be a big part of how someone performs. He could be a big player for us and to release him now before we know what league we ar ein is just ludicrous to me.Comment

Derby loan deal sounds good to me regarding Phillips. Hoilett I would sell, too frustrating to watch, and I don´t think that will ever change.Comment

This is one the frustrating things about this club. We seem to drain the confidence and talent out of players rather than develop them. When Hoillet joined he was one of the most exciting talents in the Premiership. Was one of the standout players when I saw Blackburn. Media pundits were drooling over him. I was extremely surprised me managed to get him. Now he looks a shadow of that and we will probably end up selling him for about £2m.
Phillips, although without the same Premiership experience, was very good at Championship level and was expected to be able to make the step up.
Now look at us. Playing Fer out wide and we could probably do with giving Vargas a stint up front. Absolutely crazy. We are crying out for an injection of life out wide and to allow Fer to play in his proper position. Not to mention SWP and Petrasso as other wingers on our books. Even Adel and Traore can play out wide.
Our man management appears poor and have no idea what the coaches do with players.Comment

By that reckoning rio cd turn round and say he hasnt been given a chance. We are not a charity. We have 17 odd games to survive in the biggest league in the world. No brainer to me that vargas looks much better there than philips and works well with isla. Our problem is the left not the right imho.hes appeared 5 times in the prem for us this year and two times that has been as a striker. I agree with you about the left being a problem. My argument for phillips isn't necessarily about this moment right now. I agree vargas and isla have a good thing going on the right hand side. I just don't want to see phillips sold right now. I think that's bad business long term. That decision should be made in the summer and depending on what league we are in.By that reckoning rio cd turn round and say he hasnt been given a chance. We are not a charity. Left mid is a must that needs sorting ASAP I 100 % agree.Comment

Phillips did well for Blackpool in the PL so this idea he can't play in the top division is nonsense
Really getting fed up with the club and fans short sighted approach to signing and selling playersWe Are The People.....Comment

Phillips and Hoilett would thrive at any other club.. If they go to Derby they will win the league with them and improve as individuals due to McLaren.
They aren't bad players... Their young players who need confidence and coaching. They get neither at QPR.Comment
