People say he should go here or there on loan even if he doesnt want to... no he shouldnt, he's perfectly entitled to sit tight. Maybe, just maybe, he's waiting for the day Harry gets booted, which hopefully will be soon, and wants a chance to prove himself in training to the new manager.

Also, everyone who bangs on about getting rid of certina players who arent playing seem to ignore the fact we need a squad of 25, therefore, some of them wont play often if at all.
You seriously believe swp is the answer?...
What he has done wrong is clog up our squad. He has (according to the manager) been told he does not feature in our plans.
As has been said he would've still got the same wage, but we would've made a small amount available to bring someone else in.
By sitting tight he is helping relegate us, in so far as we can't bring in a replacement.
I think btw to say he has done as well as anyone else, isn't that great a thing to shout about

Agree Timmy....he's entitled to sit we all know that, but football is or should be about playing.

I didnt say he was the answer to anything. I was simply saying some of the vitriol towards him is unjustified imo. Saying he's done as well as others isnt saying much i agree totally, but the fact is he's almost been made a scapegoat along with others. Also id argue the likes of Mutch are clogging up the squad just as much as he's been pitiful whenever played anbd offered absolutely nothing. He's barely looked like a prem player.

Also, as for freeing funds for others to come in if he went on loan, do me a favour.... if he was to go on load the other probabaly lower league side would only want to pay a negligible amount of wages meaning we'd pick up nearly all of it. The few Łk saved will not contribute much of anything towards a worthwhile prem signing.

As for being told he does not feature..... In that case the question to Harry should be, why did you put him in the premier league squad then...!! He's clearly just stated something like that if at all and he's typically trying to deflect media focus onto anything but how crap he's been as manager. It's no coincidene, the last time it was said he had one game to get a result or he's out, in the press conference he came up with all the Adel rubbish. Dont believe a word of it.

The issue is SWP has played like a league 1 player for two years now while earning Champions League money. He can turn up to training all he likes but I've certainly not seen anything from him since about December 2012 that would warrant playing him ahead of any of the rest of our wide players.

Whoever said he was "tricky" above needs their eyes testing.

In what games has he played at all to be said he's played like a league 1 player...???

Also you say not seen anything to suggest he should play ahed of other wide players.... what like Philips who's had loads of chances this season and repeatedly looked abysmal, including missing an open goal at Old Trafford the week after skying a sitter at White Hart Lane after doing the hard part. His confidence is shot completely yet still gets a nod ahead of SWP. If Philips can get gametime then there's no reason SWP shouldnt have also had more over the last year or so.

The only wide player justifying his place is Vargas. Fer shouldnt be wide he should be in the middle and by playing wide takes an attacking option away from our team as he always slows play up and comes inside condensing the play. Yet another Harry failing. Hoilett has looked decent in glimpses when called upon.

If he really wants to play, then he should accept the loan offers in the Championship where he could actually get a game each week.

In my opinion, he doesnt want to do this because he'll get exposed for not being up to Championship level and is therefore concerned he wont be able to demand a lucrative contract when this one runs out.

                .
Without knowing facts of any offers if there were any, nobody can say anything. Playing devil's advocate, for all you know an offer may have been the other end of the country in some sh1thole. In such an instance would it be such a surprise he wouldnt want to go.

Sometimes you just have to make sacrifices to get what you want (in this case, regular football).

And on the wedge he is on, I'm sure he would live in a very decent area close enough to commute by sports car to the sh*thole he has to play in.

Yeah i agree of course, my point being Harry#s putting out there what it suits him to put out there.

He played 11 times last season and was consistently terrible.

I went to both pre-season games in Ireland. Up against pub players he looked about equivalent or slightly lower standard. You might expect a premier league attacking midfielder on ~60k pw to be able to take the #### out of Athlone Town and look a step up. You'd definitely expect him to at least look like a better player, holding a bit back in reserve. At the bare fking minimum you would expect him to have control and touch as good as the part-timers he was up against, but he had none of those things. He'd often just stand there with the ball at his feet and not know what to do with it, his only move left is the Jamie Mackie-style punt it past the fullback and hope for the best. Except he was tiny in the first place and doesn't seem very quick these days either.

Yeah Philips and Hoilett have been crap but I'm certainly not clamouring for SWP to be given a chance, the guy is simply terrible.

I don't know what to make of SWP, he was good for Man City & Chelsea but shite for us. Hoilett was good for Blackburn but shite for us. Matty Phillips was good for Blackpool but shite for us. Jordan Mutch was good for Cardiff but shite for us. Maybe the coaching and management is just shite.

A lot of fans can't seem to stand him but have time for likes of Adel who hasn't bothered to keep himself fit. SWP has not disrespected the club off the pitch.

Whilst as I say not the best signing ever in my view should have played fairly regularly last season. We had a slow, predictable team and whilst SWP lacks all too often an end product he is quick and tricky. Championship full backs would have struggled against him. At Premiership level I wouldn't say he should be a regular starter but given Hoillet and Phillips have struggled I would have used him in some games from the bench. Maybe even from the start in a few.

Is frustrating having someone earning so much not playing but doesn't seem to be through lack of application or poor attitude on his part.
That is how I look it aswell. As a midfielder I think he has played quite OK when called upon. He has not ecatly got many chances to show what he can do. I should believe he would have functioned quite well in a 3-5-2 formation. On the few occations I have seen him play he has never shied away from taking his turn defensively.

Not quite right. The rule is you can't name less than 25 if you have eligible players on payroll. Eg, name 23 planning to keep a couple of slots for free signings to add later. The fact is we have more than 25 players so could've named a 25 without him in it. Maybe that would've forced his hand into moving, rather than list him and give him false hope of making a game here and there.
