Callum McManaman and Matty Phillips swap deal blocked (Mail)

I can remember him having one good half for us, against his old club Blackpool last season. I honestly can't remember anything else of note that he's done.

Don't forget that he didn't actually play that many games last season. He signed whilst out with a broken arm, only getting into the side in mid to late October, and needed to get match fit, so only got to be a frequent starter in late November. but he got injured on Feb 2nd and didn't play again last season. In the few games he managed he scored a few goals and set some more up some for Austin too.

I think its a disgrace how so many QPR fans are throwing Phillips out the window... The guys 22 years old and has had two bad injuries since signing for us. His hardly been given a chance and if he wants to stay to fight then good on him!!.. We were crying out for players with that sort of attitude not so long ago and now people are wanting that sort of player out the door.. Some of you obviously have very short memories.

Not sure how reliable this is. The exact same story went round other sites and tabloids involving Maloney, not McManaman.
Even so, I'd have Phillips over McManaman every day of the week. Pony player.

I know Hoilett isn't great but he is our best winger. SWP... Well, we all know the story there and Phillips.. Think he should go on loan, get some game time in, he has been poor when he has played and HR won't give him many more chances. I liked Phillips when we got him and I don't think we should sell him.

I agree with this totally, but I would also like to point out that plenty of people supporting Phillips here are also giving Sandro abuse for the same thing and he certainly doesn't deserve that criticism. Despite this, I know Phillips has seemed a shadow of the player he was last season but when we actually could play him on the left and have him cut in so we could move Fer into the middle, we have to question the potential risk of giving him that chance. Fer has done an excellent job but I would like to see him in the middle with phillips wide left.

Sandro has been injury prone for 7 years.. Matty hasn't. there is your difference and that is why Sandro is getting stick.

Matty isn't? Matty has absolutely been injury prone. he has had problems in the past for sure. Sandro has only really been injury prone for 2/3 years at most.
