Let's be honest, he hasn't been granted a run of games to impress at Chelsea - a 10 min, 5 min appearance every 6th game will not suffice.

I rate him that highly because I used to watch FC Basel regularly and can definitely vouch for his unquestionable quality once given a run of games to impress.

Having said that, let's just hope he signs and sees this as a good opportunity to elevate his status and help us out, too!

Douglas Bader would be a cut above them two.

HR denied all knowledge of an approach this morning. Same goes for the Icelandic striker.

Yes, wouldn't read much into this morning's presser.

Of greater concern is the water-logged training pitches....then "someone letting the pin out" of the inflatable indoor training dome...

He was good for Basel in the CL but they are one of those teams that seem to perform better than they should, making players look better than they are. When I've seen him for Chelsea he has no final ball or composure. But maybe he's struggling to adapt?

As said he's probably a step up on what we've got.
