Harry Redknapp has been told to make up his mind over Mauro Zarate or risk losing out on taking the player to Queens Park Rangers on loan for the rest of the season.

Redknapp told ClaretandHugh this morning that although the Argentinian striker had passed a medical with the club, he still hadn’t made up his mind on the deal.

It could be that Harry's waiting on Jermain Defoe.

We could lose out on two players waiting around, we need to get this right and bring in players early. No last minute shopping as all the best players have been sold.

Twitter is saying that he only has to complete the second part of his medical (didn't know there were two parts to a medical).

Defoe wont be coming. They are only interested in loans. Zilch in it for the Canadians to loan out a 32 yr old player who cd still command a decent transfer fee. And we have no budget to buy players. Time we moved on from this rumour.

What's all this two part medical bullshine????? S'funny how its possible to sort it all out in about 5 minutes flat if its 10:50pm on last day of window but it apparently takes days to get it over the line at the moment?

Maybe some of the medical staff are still taking time off over Christmas/New Year and won't be back until Monday. Also don't suppose anybody is doing regular blood tests, XRays etc.
