QPR co owner buys Los Angeles MLS team, with Vincent Tan

1 of our co-owners that is not named Tony Fernandes is a part of an investment group that just bought the latest MLS franchise, to be started in LA in 3 years time.

Ruben Gnanalingam is the fella's name and I have to say although I knew we had other less-public owners than Tony, I didn't know this fella. After a quick Google, apparently he is on Twitter (@Ruben_E_G).

Interestingly, the investment group includes US womens team star Mia Hamm, LA Lakers basketball legend Magic Johnson, and notorious massive fan of wearing pants at n1pple height: Vincent Tan.

    what the f00k!?
Cardiff City's billionaire owner Vincent Tan is among a group of investors backing a new MLS franchise, Los Angeles Football Club.

And on the subject of MLS, I know they've recently shut down LA's "2nd team" Chivas USA (LA Galaxy are far more popular, from what my mate in LA tells me). Chivas are some B team of a Mexican league side who are giants in that league.

but ffs i didnt even know MLS were selling the franchise rights to a new team in that same city/market.
At this rate that league is going to be about 40 teams in ten years.
The commissioner should work on improving the sh1te quality of football among the current league teams!! Been to a few games (NYRB, Seattle, Portland) and the quality is dreadful!

but i digress, we should be talking about how most of our 4-5 co-owners have about 5-10 quite sizable projects/companies/interests that they are the heads of. which leads me to think that running QPR this way ..... would be like having 3 mums and 3 dads, and each one takes a 5 hour shift playing parent: the math adds up, but the approach aint right.

not having a moan about qpr ownership, just pointing out that this is either bog standard or a special case

Its all a business to them, always has always will. Ruben and Vincent Tan are both rich Malaysians with interests in British clubs so pretty sure they know each other well.

On the plus side, only success on the pitch will ensure profit off it.

And why on earth not? My support is not blind, I make my own conclusions and voice criticism of whoever and whenever I deem necessary. It is called democracy, dude. You can't handle dissent? Go to a church.

Dude. I can't stand your anti QPR agenda on almost everything Rangers. I repeat, what are you doing as a mod on a QPR site?

Or on the flip side it could be a positive link to another team for future talent coming out of USA.

It's not that difficult, I support QPR and I volunteered when nobody else bothered. My agenda is not anti-QPR when you apply logic.
Redknapp is not QPR. He is just the current manager and under him we are in the relegation zone again. TF and Co are not QPR. They are just the current owners and we are in much greater debt that under many previous owners. Not that anyone could have imagined this happening or indeed wants to think of this even now. And if through the continuous "synergy" of these dubious characters we end up relegated again and destitute, will it be really a surprise to you? If you consider these men to be the epitome of QPR and worth defending, then you are a poor supporter and should look at yourself before criticising others.

Yes. My turn. Do you actually do conversations or only use this interrogation style? Because you bore me. Go joing the police (if you have not already) and interrogate someone there, thanks!
