For me the side is sorely lacking and it could be the difference a to our side a mobile ball winning midfielder. If we have someone snapping into challenges winning the ball it gets the crowd up and the other players instead of just sitting off like we did today. Terrifying that we still think we need more and more signings. What do they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

Being new don't stop you doing the basics right like passing to your own man and tackling your making excuses mate. Will he get better with time I hope so but if you have a bad game even if your a new signing surely we can say so just like we are saying Dunne had a bad gameOriginally posted by jmelanie View PostDid Mutch play in the preseason? If not I think we need to stop getting on his back. He arrived and was put straight into the team. Even the best player would need some time to get used to this.

Are we the only team that can go from outside bets for a European spot to relegated with a record low points in the space of 8 days. I think there needs to be a reality check to stop these huge swings in mood, Hull was a decent performance given the pre-season and late signings we had and Spurs today was a bad performance by the whole team.
1) We are going to get very little away from home this season, like most seasons in the top division.
2) Home games will decide our future, the first 3 of Hull, Sunderland, Stoke followed by November of Leicester, Burnley, WBA, Palace, Swansea are the two key periods for me.
3) We are in a mini league of about 8 teams fighting to stay up, any other games are just a bonus.
4) New signings and a brand new formation do take time to work, everyone needs to be given time.
That said today was really bad and we made Danny Rose look like a world beater.

everything you have said is spot on....we didn't go up until the end of the season and we won't go down till the end of this one. the meltdown with some of our fans says a lot about them, the same people who claimed we would be a mid to top table team i would imagine. ffs get a grip ya drips.Originally posted by Garyd73 View PostAre we the only team that can go from outside bets for a European spot to relegated with a record low points in the space of 8 days. Brilliant post. All good points and for me just goes to prove what a sh1t league the prem is. To play in a league where you know you will only get a handful of points when playing away and in a mini league of about 8 teams? exciting? not really. At least in the Championship little clubs like us have a chance of glory and winning it and every game is winnable.Originally posted by Garyd73 View PostAre we the only team that can go from outside bets for a European spot to relegated with a record low points in the space of 8 days. Have to agree, the thought that the above would be all the 'Success' we could garner in the premiership, depresses me greatly.Originally posted by Hoopsmad View PostAll good points and for me just goes to prove what a sh1t league the prem is. Success this season would be 17th, from there you can the build and increase expectation slowly. We tried a few years buying instant success and look what that did for us. If we can stay up and build and look to improve your league position by 2-3 places each year then soon just staying up isn't enough. Ask Fulham if they are happier being in the championship rather than winning only a few away games each year in the premier league. In fact ask any championship team if they would rather have 0 points from 2 premier league games or be top of the championship and I bet they would all swap places with us.Originally posted by BUSHRANGER1982 View PostHave to agree, the thought that the above would be all the 'Success' we could garner in the premiership, depresses me greatly.
We are never going to be a top 6 side realistically and I bet half the teams in the PL have 1 objective this year which is to stay up and then see how high they can finish 2nd.

It still depresses you. The EPL has been a business for 22 years. Isn't it about time that some of us got used to that fact? I know it's wrong and football is no longer a level playing field.Originally posted by BUSHRANGER1982 View PostHave to agree, the thought that the above would be all the 'Success' we could garner in the premiership, depresses me greatly.
Personally I hope the bubble bursts eventually or preferably rule changes come in to make things fairer e.g. fixed spending budgets and employee salaries for every club.
