    Attacking Set Pieces

    Discuss............

Why have we been so bad at them for so long at our club and that includes throw ins

All attacking set pieces/corners we're so bad its painful to watch!!!!! I think at times we almost try to be to clever... choose a man and find him! I especially struggle to see how ANY team can get corners wrong.... fill the box with player's and whip a ball in.

Good point Nick your thinking as I am. We seem unable to execute plans so im tempted to say just play percentages put it on the penalty spot and tell everyone just to charge at it and hope we put our head on it. Must be better then hitting the first man or over hitting it every time

Exactly! Its so simple, but the thing is its so dangerous for the opposition when balls are being whipped in especially when the penalty box is full of players.

Agreed, it's criminal how poor our set pieces have been in recent years and yesterday was no different. The most annoying thing is that we have plenty of players that are dangerous in the air but we just never find them from a corner ball. For me set pieces really aren't a strong part of Barton's game, a set piece specialist must be high up on Harry's shopping list!

I say it every week but We never seem to score from a corner yet always concede from them. I can't watch whenever we defend a corner yet when we've got one we never look like scoring!

The Rangers start to need working on set pieces, both the defending of, and the executing of. Looking at us these last four or five years, you would be forgiven for thinking that set pieces are just an afterthought during training.

Yes, the lack of movement when a throw-in is about to be taken, can be very annoying.

We had a corner today and the chance to put it in the box but we went short and it ended up with Rob Green after another screw up taking it short. Why not play percentages especially when were a goal behind put it on the pen spot and tell the big lads to attack it

What do these ####ers do in training??
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Try to avoid defeat against the cones.

Er. Two of our four goals this season have come from corners. We only won one corner today, in the second half (which was wasted), so we really couldn't do much with things we never won....

Your right rich set pieces are something you can work on, plan and give yourself an advantage against you opponents but what should be something we use as an attacking threat we somehow manage to turn into a negative
