Harry supposedly wants four more signings.....

According to the Mail. QPR boss Redknapp keen on signing former Pompey midfielder Diarra

QPR are launching a bid to sign Lassana Diarra from Lokomotiv Moscow. Diarra blossomed under Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth where he won the FA Cup in 2008 before moving to Real Madrid.

Not sure how committed to the cause he would be, but he is a fantastic player.

      £80k a week though?

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Agree with that. But it's the defensive midfielder and mention of four more signings which is interesting.

Would say four is about right.

          Two centre mids

A LWB to replace Yun (clearly not fancied by 'Arry)

A striker (two if Remy goes)

TF tweeted earlier that we will get one or two more in. They might meet in the middle and go three

Classic Harry. Starts off saying he needs six players. Gets four. Then says he needs another six. I know the squad is thin but personally I would now look for quality over quantity. You sense that Adel will be off so I would spend most of what is left on one really top creative player and one more striker. Waste of money imho buying a new left back when we have Yun and Traore, plus we need some continuity.

Striker and a defensive midfielder must surely be non negotiable. I take Stainrod's point, but I'd be happy to see a left wing back come in as well.,

Not sure how the midfield is going to pan out. Personally think Barton and Ale are not a bad combo as defensive midfield players (questions obviously over Ale's fitness for a season). Has Mutch got the experience/ fitness/ sheer skill to be the creative attacking player? Is that a role for Der Gurzman (sorry, spelling?), or Van der Vaart, or the French youngster we have been linked with? I don't have the answer but that is the position that worries me. Without opening up the Adel debate the fact remains we haven't replaced him and we are a team devoid of creativity. You can have Luis Saurez up front but if you don't have the service you aren't going to score.

Good points. I liked the central pairing of Barton and Faurlin first half yesterday. And would make do with that next week. But a more solid defensively minded midfielder beside Barton would come in handy. Let's hope, if we get no one else in, that Mutch can do the creative job we need. Remy, unlike Charlie, can get in the end of through balls, so if he plays then Mutch- or who else plays the number 10- at least has options other than playing it wide or playing it to Charlie with his back to goal. Holliett is another possible number 10.

Watched the charity shield highlights on MOTD & Arsenal were missing Oxlaide-Chamberlain & Walcott. Shows what a step up in class there is from top 4 in championship (where we finished) to top 4 of PL, hopefully we don't get spanked too badly by the top sides. Definitely need some creativity & our strikers are going to need to take whatever chances come their way.

I think we need as many as 5/6, CB but not essential, 3 midfield, one of those being a DM, and 2 strikers.
                            Kept the faith!
