Best player at the club, whatever issues there may or may not be with his character (tho i note harry was v complimentary about him). Liverpool wanted him until right up to the last minute to replace saurez. A club our size cant afford not to play someone of his ability imo. If he stays and then stays fit and is in the right frame of mind that is the difference between staying up and going down imo.

Try Hoilett in the no10 role.
Would love Tarbs to get fit & slot back into that role eventually though, must be said. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Have come round to that point of view (one of the best players, I'd say). I don't feel warmly disposed toward him, though. But we can't go into the campaign with only Charlie and Bob.Originally posted by stainrodisalegend View PostBest player at the club, whatever issues there may or may not be with his character (tho i note harry was v complimentary about him). Only you and kirill.Originally posted by QPR Richard View PostAnyone concerned at the lack of pre- season time Rio has had? Surely he needs some sort of warm up game time before the new season, and with HR putting in a new system.
He was working at the world cup, and even flew back to sign for us and then back again. He needs a break as he didnt get one. Isla, remy and mutch aint had any game time either, you worried about them?

Isla and Remy were match fit until July, Rio hasn't kicked a ball since early May, apart from 45 mins in Germany. It's probably the one position were match fitness is not needed as much as the others though, wing back for example.Originally posted by Kevin Mcleod View PostOnly you and kirill.

I'm not worried about Isla and Remy as they've just come back from the world cup and will be reasonably fit. Mutch is a young lad compared to Rio and should be quite fit. How many minutes has Rio put in on the pitch during pre-season?Originally posted by Kevin Mcleod View PostOnly you and kirill.

Just seems odd we're going into the new season without giving our supposed starting back line much practice. Doesn't that give you any cause for concern?Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Ideally yes he should be playing more but he is 35 and ultra professional. Maybe the view is to preserve him as much as poss for actual matches. Or maybe he still has a bit of a niggle. He is such a good reader of the game tho i expect he will pick it up pretty quickly.Originally posted by QPR Richard View PostI'm not worried about Isla and Remy as they've just come back from the world cup and will be reasonably fit. Do get what your saying even if not 90min run outs would have thought two or three 45mins. I think he is however at a stage of his career where he will let the coaches know etc what he needs to do as he knows his body best. Although not playing games he has been in full training so there cannot be an awful lot wrong but as you say I would have given some pitch time to himOriginally posted by QPR Richard View PostI'm not worried about Isla and Remy as they've just come back from the world cup and will be reasonably fit. On the SWP question from others I genuinely thought he has put in some decent shifts in pre season and has looked lively. Hes not a starter but in my view worth a place on the bench
