And those players were young? Yes or now? I ask because so many on here want young players.

I would say the coaches are fine ( although could do with more by the sounds of it ) the facilitates on the other hand are a different story

But it's ok according to TF we don't need a new training ground....

I can't imagine those who have received their ST's in the post are as excited as they thought they would be following May 24th.

Stats don't lie and this squad failed to score enough goals in the far inferior championship. We have added 2 defenders so maybe a goal or 3 from set plays over the season. Taarabt and Remy might add something if they knuckle down but that'll be down to luck not judgement.

That Spurs side had Bale, Huddlestone, Lennon, BAE, Defoe, Palacios, Kaboul, Dawson, Krajcar, Paylyuchenko etc. And was built around Modric, one of the best CM the premiership has had in recent years. AND this was when Citeh & the scousers were still shite.

Let's not eulogise Arry's achievements too much.

It seems obvious our coaches our subpar - good players come here and become shite. We do not develop good youngsters. Plus any good youngers we've got jump at the chance to go somewhere else.

It's obvious the club needs to be changed from the ground up, and sadly Arry is not that guy!

As for this season I will wait until we sign a few faces, but this squad is lacking in quality and no amount of togetherness or harmony will fix that. Palace stayed up last year because Pulis knows how to organise a defence and they had individuals who could grab a goal on the counter. We were shaky in the Championship and haven't made many improvements!

Let's not give up before the season has even begun, we've forgotten about the spirit the players showed and the support we showed back at wembley only a few months back to easily.
Pulis and Redknapp are very different managers and coaches. There's a reason why Pulis has never been relegated as a manager even when taking over inferior squads as he somehow manages to find a way to get them all pulling in the right direction and achieving the results required. We know Redknapp is not in the same league otherwise he would have managed the 2012-13 shambles a hell of a lot better.

At present harry would be mad to play 3 5 2 on the opening games of the season as we havent got the players but in all fairness if we went with 4 2 3 1 we could have a team something like this against hull and its not as bad as some might expect...

                        simpson caulker rio yun/traore

                        barton fer/faurlin

                        phillips remy hoilett

                        Austin

That team could hold its own against Hull in my opinion. Its not perfect but thats not a team that will get smashed. Some experienced heads there, a bit of quality but also players who play for the shirt. Very different from last time we played in the prem.

Its not all doom and gloom. We know we need 3,4 or 5 new players but yes we might have a rocky start but if we get the business right then long term we should be safe.

The problem with your team there is that as of yet we dont know if Remy will stay and Fer isn't very likley to join if he hasn't already done so and if Southampton make an acceptable bid for him.

So the team is more likely to have Henry and SWP in it instead.

Jesus some of the doom mongers on here....Its bloody depressing. We aint that bad and we got aq decent manager and set up. We are probably 4 or 5 players hort of being a mid table side imo.
If harry lands this isla lad added to caulker and ri, I think that shows our intention in the market. All class acts and the club will be working hard on more midfield and attacking options. We have brought well so far.
Cant believe their is a thread about Harrys transfer dealing last year when we got Austin, Simpson and phillips. All class signings for that league. hes just landed caulker to which is a top signing and rio only came because of Harry.
Yes things are going a bit slow but its not the end of the world. We need to get a grip.

i think the players who know they will move leave it until near deadline day, its in their best interests. Nowadays lots of clubs start the season still negotiating transfers.

There seems to be as much pessimism on this board as there was optimism at the beginning of the 2012-2013 Season
