Remy now set for crunch QPR talks with Harry

Remy is expected to return for pre-season training at QPR next week after his £8million move to Liverpool collapsed.

His transfer fell through on medical grounds and the France forward will report back to QPR, where he will meet Redknapp to discuss his future...

Presumably its a typo as the article was probably written yesterday.

Stating the obvious but need to thrash out with him what happens now. Either he needs to be sold and quick or he needs to accept he is with us for at least the first half of next season and knuckle down. We have time in terms of recruiting but can't afford to sit around for weeks only for him to disappear as window closes.

Would be big boost if he stays and to be fair to him he has never come across as the type who won't put in a shift if he does end up staying.

Personally think Liverpool mad at that money not to take a punt. Should be paying twice that for him really.

It was reported that he cancelled his leave to go to the US to discuss his transfer to Liverpool. During his time in the US, he was apparently driven around to various specialist and doctors appointments. He then sat around for several days until Liverpool decided they did not want him. This can hardly be classed as holiday. After signing for Liverpool, he was supposed to complete his holiday period before joining up with them.

Given the events of the last few days, I cannot imagine he can be in the right frame of mind to start preseason training or to discuss his future with the Club.

....that could explain the extra week before starting pre-season training.

Just make sure TF is there with his playstation...

If he does stay I can't see him sulking around and not putting a shift in. He'll want to show everyone what he can do despite his medical problems.

I can't imagine he'd need more time off to recover from the world cup because he hardly played.

My thinking is it will be next week in fact because, as Mel said earlier, he hasn't actually had any time off all summer. So perhaps no typo after all.

Even if you dont play much, you still have to train religiously and stick to a strict diet and do untold travelling. Its still proper working. Everyone who went needs and deserves a holiday. Even the English mugs.

I understand he set his heart (no pun intended) on a move to a Champions League side but this is his job. If I applied for another job and didn't get it, I might be disappointed but would still be able to go into work so can't see why he can't. It is ONLY a job to the majority of players.

When it comes to football I think remy just wants to play and play at the best clubs. Have no worries that he will come back get his head down and score goals if hes a qpr player. My real worry is spurs. I cant see Arsenal coming in for him now but spurs could yet decide to go for the 12 mill option.
