Some inaccurate info on this thread.

Remy does want champions league but is also reluctant to take a pay cut. Arsenal offered him 50k a week and he turned it down.

Don't know about this pay as you play thing from Liverpool but they were probably reluctant to pay him the 80k he wanted when a)he wouldn't necessarily start every game and B) he does appear to have a heart problem.

He may not want to stay, who knows, but he is unlikely to get Champions league as only an English club would pay him any where near 80k and all those are out of the running know.

Newcastle or Spurs might match his wages but very much doubt it, so it looks like whether he likes it or not he will have to stay with us to get the money he wants.

I agree that this all sounds suspicious. He had a preliminary medical in the UK before flying out to Boston (though some papers say he went to NY), so wouldn't they have found something then. Also why do the medical in the US. He wasn't going to play there because he was still on holiday from the World Cup. Also he went with his family.

Perhaps they'd planned to get him involved in their pre-season tour asap, or perhaps the preliminary medical found something and Liverpool wanted it checked out by a specialist?

Will go on loan back to France I bet, won't play for Rangers not even the slightest bit excited over this news. No premier league club will go near him now.

He has a court case pending in France, which is one of the reasons he left I the first place.

Kevin, that means sod all at the end of the day if it doesn't even make it to court because the charges have been dropped. His name has been cleared. Re googling certain combinations of words means precious little - gossiping/tittle-tattle with no substance is for the dumbed-down idle. That's not true stigma.

Quiet homely 'right sort' players dont get falsely accused of horrid stuff like that, so i added it to the list cos i felt it was justified.

By the way, i hate the 'wrong sort and right sort stuff as well, but stain asked why do people think hes the 'wrong sort' and all i did was listed my reasons.

Does anybody think that part of the problem is that Tony wants him to stay and Harry doesn't. Harry didn't sign him and he has been saying for months that he won't be staying. On the other hand Tony has indicated several times that he thinks he could stay.

Not for me why would Harry not want him to stay if he could keep him when were crying out for a striker??? We wont get a better striker then Remy in unless were going to spend mega bucks

I don't think that's quite true Jane. Harry originally scouted and targeted Remy, and it was Tony who did the deal. Harry would love Remy to stay but has just been realistic in his quotes about the slim chances of keeping him due to the release clause and Remy wanting CL football. Things may well have changed now though.

It's just a feeling I have. Yes I know Harry scouted him, but it was Tony who got him to agree, which meant Harry didn't really get a chance to brag about it (perhaps I am being mean). Also he has been saying for months that he won't be at Rangers this season, but I don't really remember him saying that he would like him to stay. The scenario is similar for Granero, but on several occasions Harry has said that he would like Granero to stay.

Also remember Harry wanted Remy when he was at spurs, so he's a long time admirer. Very much doubt anything has changed, but you never know. Personally I think both TF AND HR want him here as much as the other and know full well he'll score goals.

Even though Remy will have to stay for a few months due to this failed medical, I think he will do his uttermost to get away from the club. I don´t trust his committment to the Club. He didnt give his all at Newcastle, either . Honestly, I think Harry is of the same opinion as me. Remy wants to play CL-fotball as soon as possible.

I hear you, but we're desperately short of PL quality strikers and beggars cant always be choosers. He may not be the ideal 'sort' but I think the chances of him staying will now have risen sharply.

To be totally honest, i couldnt care what sort he is if he came back and scored goals stan, i think im being so picky and harsh (and even doing that 'right sort wrong sort' thing i hate) because deep in my mind i feel certain he will not ever come back to help out the club we love and the one he used as a stepping stone.

I've read this on a few posts but Harry has already said he is playing five at the back and needs a number 10 behind the striker. How are they going to play together then (other than maybe for 20 mins when we are chasing a game)? I know people love Charlie but it has to be Remy up top on his own and Charlie on the sub's bench.
