I've said it before on here and I will say it again, counting on Defoe would be very foolish, he's doing great with Toronto FC, I'm actually going to watch the friendly with Spurs tonight at BMO! The problem is, as Defoe is finding out, MLS is a tough physical league with terrible officiating, lots of travel and a compressed fixture schedule! I suspect if Defoe lasts through this season without being injured by one of these NCAA athletic defenders who get away with murder, he will be in need of a good rest and recovery period!

It's not that easy Dave, TFC have built the franchise around this guy, so far he's paying huge dividends with every match sold out and his goal production being top notch! He's also on a big wage apparently, I don't think the club would consider selling him!

I don't know for sure but it's safe to say it is huge otherwise I doubt he would have come over here!

I can't see HR putting that out there if some type of conversation has not already been had with the board? I personally wouldn't want us to go down that road, I recall him saying similar things regarding Fer now apparently we have made a bid?

The only reason Defoe is out there is for the money.

I've always liked him, a proper goalscorer and just the type we need, however, we'd have to break the bank to bring him here and I don't think it's a wise move, unless he wants to come home and would be willing to take a big pay cut from his Toronto wages.
