Quite shrewd if true. His wish was our move to always be a stepping stone to a top 4 side, so by making that clause the lowest, it would appease him to sign.

That said, when Liverpool will get £75m for Suarez, they'd be mad not to snap up a guaranteed goal machine for £8m.... Same for Arsenal so I still expect he'll depart.

£8m to Arsenal or Liverpool or £11m to Spurs is not a lot for a striker good for 15 goals a season. I reckon he will be snapped up by a top 6 side.
