In fairness it doesn't take us much further forward. A host of clubs are happy to pay the transfer fee. Its the wages that are the stumbling block.

Re his position - he would be the best player we have at the club by a country mile. Everyone else would have to work round him, even if it means dropping Austin.

Agree with everything you've said in this thread mate. Especially his position... The man's an out and out goal scorer, he needs to be as central as possible and would be a great target man alongside Austin, if they stayed fit they would score for fun.

I do think its funny though how last season the one real thing we struggled to do was score goals and now at the slimmest of chances we have an opportunity to have to great strikers playing alongside each other and theres people who want to mess around by playing the one proven PL goal scorer in a wider position...

TH and Arsenal have supposedly meant to be bidding for Remy for the last umpteen months, i will wait until somebody from QPR confirms it before i believe it, its abit like when Arsenal were signing Cesar last year.

That's fair enough, but I dont see Remy as a lone striker. Hasn't the hold up play or workrate for it. Austin a better option for that role imo.

Need to either offer him a new improved contract or resign ourselves to losing him and looking for a replacement. Cant get into the Doyle/Maiga situation again :(

To be fair he hasnt done anything wrong to my knowledge, he has no control over media spec.

If thats true then arsenal are mad. Hes a goalscorer, french international and scored goals in a rubbish qpr team and a average newcastle team. Put him in a top four team and he'll bang them in. 80k for a striker of his calibre in this day of age is a snip and when you see they are paying more than double to other stars you can understand why remy is putting his foot down.
Even selling him for 10 mill is a bloody bargain. I mean if we are suppose to believe mcormack went for 11 mill then something is seriously wrong. He's the 1 player atm Id love tf to sit down and go look son give sign a 3 year deal, we'll give a 25 k a week pay wise bit we will put in another release clause 15 mill and you can go next summer. Gives us the year we all wanted from him, gives us a hell of a chance to stay up and remy can go next year why we scout for a new signing.
