In fairness it doesn't take us much further forward. A host of clubs are happy to pay the transfer fee. Its the wages that are the stumbling block.

Re his position - he would be the best player we have at the club by a country mile. Everyone else would have to work round him, even if it means dropping Austin.

I do think its funny though how last season the one real thing we struggled to do was score goals and now at the slimmest of chances we have an opportunity to have to great strikers playing alongside each other and theres people who want to mess around by playing the one proven PL goal scorer in a wider position...

I know we have a certain affinity to austin now but lets be honest if it came down to choosing austin or remy in that central role it would have to be remy all day long.

I do personally think for some games next year we could play 4 4 2 against our direct rivals as long as we have the right cm combination. But I do believe remy is offski.

I actually agree with you but I've also got this thing in the back of my head telling me its just to good to be true..... especially at qpr!

That's fair enough, but I dont see Remy as a lone striker. Hasn't the hold up play or workrate for it. Austin a better option for that role imo.

Worst case scenario - we think he is ours then someone comes in at the 11th hour out of desperation, offers him the crazy wages he is looking for and Harry gets on the blower to bring back Kevin Doyle or some other joke player.

God don't say that mate.... not only is that the worst case scenario its also a very realistic scenario.

Need to either offer him a new improved contract or resign ourselves to losing him and looking for a replacement. Cant get into the Doyle/Maiga situation again :(

I'm getting right fed up of the will he won't he stuff about Remy. He's our player and under contract to play football for QPR. If he no longer wants to, then he's perfectly at liberty to put in a transfer request. It is then up to the club to grant or refuse that request.

Until then, the player should act like a professional and do what he's highly paid to do. The same applies to all players.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

To be fair he hasnt done anything wrong to my knowledge, he has no control over media spec.

Didn't Newcastle offer the same wages before he came to us, but he decided to come to London?

Even selling him for 10 mill is a bloody bargain. I mean if we are suppose to believe mcormack went for 11 mill then something is seriously wrong. He's the 1 player atm Id love tf to sit down and go look son give sign a 3 year deal, we'll give a 25 k a week pay wise bit we will put in another release clause 15 mill and you can go next summer. Gives us the year we all wanted from him, gives us a hell of a chance to stay up and remy can go next year why we scout for a new signing.
