Been told by someone who is every close to people in and around the club, a few deals have been agreed and the contracts won't start till players start pre-season, they didn't want to pay people for 5 or 6 weeks when they would be on holidays etc. figures mentioned that by doing this its saved around 1.5 million on wages and contracts will have start dates of when they actually start working for it, fair play why should they pay people for doing nothing. So basically don't panic expect arrivals from next week but no names were given.

but all contracts would have started on 1 july, so they've skipped 9 days instead of 5-6 weeks.Been told by someone who is every close to people in and around the club, a few deals have been agreed and the contracts won't start till players start pre-season, they didn't want to pay people for 5 or 6 weeks when they would be on holidays etc. figures mentioned that by doing this its saved around 1.5 million on wages and contracts will have start dates of when they actually start working for it, fair play why should they pay people for doing nothing. Contracts can end at anytime, but a new contract cannot start until the 1st July as the transfer window opens & any deals that have been put in place in principle can then be ratified by the F.a. we would not need to be paying any players wages we hope to sign before that date as they are not legally signed to us.Comment

Because we are still negotiating...do you think we would really risk missing out on our targets for the sake of 2, 3 or 4 weeks wages. I understand that maybe we are keeping a couple of announcements back but not because of wages.Comment

Nonsense.
A contract worth millions and a club would try and save a matter of thousands & possibly scupper the deal for the sake of 1 or 2 weeks?
Tell your mate to take his face for a shite.
