Got buddies who are Spurs, West Ham, Arsenal and City supporters. A couple of Liverpool supporters as well.

Nobody likes Chelsea, as God intended.

In my opinion, the biggest disconnect between American fans and *ahem* Association football is that for so long, our sports associated "excitement" with "scoring." That's why it's my hope that the World Cup changes attitudes around here, since people are realizing that sometimes, scoreless draws can be outrageously exciting.

Welcome to the Board tepper! Your friends have done you a great service, inadvertently or otherwise!

You may have to get used to "football" being a context-sensitive word.
'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

They're pretty awful this year. Last time I checked it was ten losses in the last eleven.

Actually football was originally called soccer in the UK to distinguish it from rugby. It is an abbreviation of association.

They're horrendous. Trust me: my family has been season ticket holders for that godforsaken team since 1988.

I have to agree with hitman. Report is a very pro american board where you will get really looked after. I will hold back with my opinion regarding american sport and Americans in general. I still can't help but laugh when we saw you all blubbering when we took away the ryder cup from you and silenced the 'USA' chants!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

We support the O's and when they played last week, my husband said he wished they could play Texas all the time.
