If the miracle came off and we got rio, caulker and lascelles could ned even be sold...apparently villa been sniffing around. Dont want it to happen but with a potentail outlay of 14 mill on cb and dunne and hill maybe a possibility.

Really hope not maids. Personally think he's a massive part of the team spirit and he's a very consistent solid defender. I'd much much much prefer him over Rio!!....... BUT all that said I wonder how much Rio being here would be a part of the reason why Caulker/Lascelles would choose to come here??.... Caulker and Ned would be absolutely awesome IMO.

A lot of English players prices are valued at what they MAY achieve which is ridiculous. Shaw @ 30mil and Lallana @ 24mil after 1 season in the Prem are good examples. Lascelles @ 12-16mil, behave!!!

Nope, but we do need two who can control a prem defence and one of similar quality on the bench. In other words Ned +2.

It's the same old problem and its been with us since pre TF days. It has to be sorted as its THE priority.

Rio might have 1 season left in him, maybe 2 MAX. IMO he is already finished. He is guaranteed to have injury problems next season.

Ned stayed when we went down and is coming into his prime years, there's no reason he can't be in or around the starting 11 for the next 4 years. Selling him would be stupid IMO.

If these are our targets then sign Rio so he can teach Caulker & Ned a thing or 2 over the next season. We can't rely on him playing too frequently
