Yeah we almost did it. I for 1 have been negative on our boys since the draw (while still supporting the team mind you). But its actually shocked me how much interest we've mustered behind the team. I live in New York and have watched USA games in Manhattan as well as outer boroughs. the support is immense. Even at a hipster bar in a majority black neighborhood in Brooklyn, the place was rammed for the USA Portugal game. African American guys in doo rags and flatbrim hats were actually yelling at real full time football enthusiasts to get out of the way of the TV.
Granted, yes, some of you are correct that we are not there yet, and yes majority of american fans are daft when it comes to football knowledge. In fact, I was at a bar for USA Belgium and the 1s wearing the shirt were the ones texting, tweeting, and taking selfies when the game was going on. Was doing my head in! But everywhere I turn, football is taking over.
