When it came down to it, which one of our fabulously over-paid players ripped up their contract to sign for a club where they were wanted?
Have said the same about the horrors you list. Nobody wants those crock of s hit. Many people want Seizure, but he wouldn't take less money. That's his right. But he makes him a MERCENARY....

Well I'd be happy doing my bit for the team, if by that you mean sitting on the bench and earning 50 grand a week. If Cesar was picked for the bench or picked to play I am sure he would have turned up too. If Green was told to go and play on his own in a park (as Cesar claims he was) then maybe he would have walked out in principle having ripped up his contract - or he might have carried on claiming his 50 bags a week with the same lack of shame as Cesar and all the others. Who knows?

OK Guys so how are you going to react, if Green leaves next season and we have Cesar as goalkeeper.

Hmmmm. I'll hate it. But if he plays well I'll cheer him to the rafters of the Ellerslie..... Nice question.

Well if you have taken the same line on the others then you are consistent. Don't think our arguments are actually too far apart. Think our problem was we (Fernandes, Hughes and to some extent Redknapp) wanted names that were too big for our club - and the only way we could attract them was paying over the odds. Now we can't shift most of them until they run out of contract. We just have to hope we have learned our lesson. And if we do give out big contracts make them performance related or linked to staying up - otherwise we are stuffed.

But Green didn't. He swallowed his pride, trained hard, sat as benchmeat, won his place back and, er, helped us win promotion (making a club record of nine consecutive clean sheets along the way). Judge the record not the hypothetical scenario, Stainrod.

I'm sure he played in the cup and if he was asked to play every game, he would have done so.

So far Cesar is playing well for Brazil in the World Cup so hopefully it attracts interest in him.

No agreement with Green as yet because he wants higher wages

Hope you apply the same standards to Tarrabt who won't lower his wages to leave when not wanted. Also have you wondered why Green has not yet signed after being offered what I guess you would describe as real world wages, just maybe he is not prepared to take a pay cut!
