  • Sticking by Rob Green all last season.

One of the best pieces of loyalty shown by QPR for years.

I don't care what Cesar's doing. It's Rob Green for me my friends!

Done well last yr Greeno and imo deserves to be first choice this season.

Nothing to do with loyalty mind. Had he had an offer from a Prem club once we got relegated he wouldve been off like s hit off a shovel.

Lee Cook giving us 250k cos we were skint is loyalty to the club. Not Rob Green and his 50k a week playing championship football.

He does not appear to have signed a new contract yet. Is it possible that if nobody comes in for Cesar, the Club will let him go and have Cesar in goal. I know he is on loan at Toronto, but Nelsen said that there is a clause in his contract stating the QPR can recall him for next season.

Exactly what I suspect Melanie. I bet Toronto is only paying a fraction of his wages and the club doesn't want to be lumbered with two massive wage bills for two international keepers for yet another season. Perfectly sensible of the club to hedge it bets imho.

Re-sign Paddy and get two for the price of one judging by his size
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Where does this line keep coming from? Quotes I read said he was happy to stay and fight for his place. He can hardly be blamed if he is not being picked.

Brazil's no 1 keeper could play for anyone if he were willing to take a pay cut. He wasn't, so he didn't. Our fault for buying him. He didn't have a place to fight for. He was told he was surplus to requirements.

He was told quite clearly he was out of favor, he was offered to a handful of top clubs and refused to leave for a drop in wages. He's a ****** in my eyes.

and before anybody replies saying "well would you leave for a paycut" - this is football here, we cannot compare this to the real world. Hardly like being asked to drop from 60k a year to 50k a year - we are talking those figures per week. He has more money than any of us could wish for, he could have left (still earning a fortune) and played football week in week out, but he opted to stay put.

                    Totally agree with the OP.

Mate, you've completely contradicted yourself. In your first post you said he refused to play for us (which is wrong) and then in your second post you complained that he didn't want to leave. Which is it? You could equally ask why Green didn't take a pay cut to earn a move when he was dropped for Cesar.

Ah. A fair if semantic point. My pop was targeted at the likes of Adel, Remy et al who wouldn't play championship football. Seizure, however, preferred to play no football. One game in a year.... Not even benchmeat. Green was benchmeat to Seizure. He did his bit for the f acking team.

Mate I think most footballers are greedy and money obsessed. What I don't get is why Cesar is always the one singled out for particular criticism way more than all the others. You could say much the same about SWP, Young, Hogan, Dellatore, Johnson, Granero, Park, Mbia, the list is virtually endless. When it came down to it, which one of our fabulously over-paid players ripped up their contract to sign for a club where they were wanted?

They are all exactly the same mate, nobody has said otherwise. It's just there isn't a thread about those started everyday with people wanting them back in the side.
