I'd rather a decent std striker who we sign and can settle in and play all season.

Also not keen on loads of loans.... Do they really care about our plight, no.
This. Two players temporarily in the team? Not keen on that. Unless we're really struggling. Glad TF vetoed Rio.

Why get excited about a 35 year old joining us on loan for a couple of months next year ??

What worries me about this deal If it happens will Defoe be motivated for the challenge or he will only use us to keep his fitness?

Thin this decison needs to be made nearer the time. If we are doing ok and we got strikers chipping in with a few goals then why bring defoe in and disrupt the team. But if we are struggling for goals then its a no brainer to me.

Great news if tf is blocking players like rio....not because i dont think rio would do a job but clearly tf is showing they have learnt from last time and surely that means they will be wanting players more like williams.

Rebel's referring to Lampard who's now 35. Defoe's 31. But yes both would only be short term loans which is never ideal in maintaining and building on our team spirit.

In a way, I agree With you. I do also worry about the fact that Harry and TF couldnīt agree regarding RFīs transfer.

Makes me Wonder whether those two share the same ideas regarding our club at all.. I would love to be proven wrong though.

You wont be proven wrong Shania - It's a fundamental long-term difference in philosophy between the two people in terms of building and progressing the club.

Harry is only thinking in terms of 1 season, after which he will probably retire. And also the reason he was only signed until May 2015.

Tony has the bigger, long-term vision.

Thatīs true and I can live With that, but I sincerly hope they both are willing too compromize for the sake of what I believe is their common goal; survival this season. it will be an interesting pre-season when it comes to signings or rather their age.

I hope we're looking for a proper solution to our serious lack of goals from last season, instead of looking at this quick short term fix.
