No, but I guess the FFP rules didn't apply at that time.
Newcastle also had Guitirez, Ameobi, Lovenkrands, Smith, both Taylors, Harper all on big wages, but hey ho the FL want to punish 'little' QPR.Comment

we did win you know.....You haven't grasped what results-oriented thinking is or why it is bad. Ask a poker player!
The short answer is you can't take an unlikely outcome and then go backwards from there.
After 89mins on saturday Harry had maybe ~30% chance of achieving the "facts" you mention. 70% of the time this forum would have spent the past week moaning about signing Maiga, letting McClaren go, stuff like that.PRIDE OF LONDON.Comment

Guys,
I have thought hard about posting this. It is less than a week since we won promotion in a fashion that is the stuff you dream about, and I would have hoped that the next few weeks would be spend with everyone just enjoying the moment and there being no arguments. But when I see this thread, I am afraid I feel obliged to answer.
First of all, do we support QPR or Harry?
Secondly, how old is this journalist? 10? 15? Because for heaven's sake, why would a grown up adult hate another grown up adult they have never met and who hasn't caused anyone any "harm". Honestly. I am not a fan of Harry's, but "hate"? C'mon, let's keep it real.
Anyway, the article is rubbish. It claims TF bought Samba for 100k a week, when this is simply not true. Maybe TF suggested Samba, but Harry ok-ed it. This is a quote from Harry about Samba: "Chris is just what we need. He's a monster. Great in the air, quick, a leader, strong, fantastic in both boxes, hard as nails. He's a proper centre-half. He was willing to take a massive pay cut". So, yeah, hardly as if Harry didn't want Samba, and Samba definitely wasn't on 100k a week.
And then the article claims that Harry made Barton stay, another lie. No one wanted Barton, that's why he stayed. Why would they want Barton? 60k a week for a player who has a limited game? Seriously?
He also omits from the article that Harry got Southampton relegated, spent money on players on HUGE salaries at Portsmouth (look at Portsmouth now) - the article is very selective and biased, and I cannot believe that anyone would even post it here and take it seriously.
People need to grow up, just because I don't think Harry is a great manager, just because I think he is an average manager who has done better than average at some clubs and worse than average at QPR, it doesn't mean I hate him.
Thanks.Comment
