I think you'd find 90% off Rangers fans would agree with that post. Its nice to dream, have big days out at Wembley maybe even reach the promise land of the Europa League but the bottom line is we are who we are.

Er, have you not noticed we sold out, and the last remaining tickets went to non-season ticket holders and members that were on the club's database? Did you go to Cardiff for the play offs?

The fan base is there. The trick is to get more of these people going regularly.

I think people forget that football at the new stadium is only a small part of overall business plan,we do not need 40,000 seats,but handy to have for concerts etc.

Correct in part. You can't tell some of these people on here that this is going to be a multi-use stadium. People like Victor W12 Ranger constantly moan about our club, how little we are, even bets against our team winning, and predicts we're going to be playing Bolton next season, which tells me he's already written us off for Saturday.

The fact is, we've sold almost 40k tickets, like it or not. A great effort.

I am personally in the 40,000 stadium camp because I think we would EVENTUALLY fill it, and if the on field product is good then "eventually" will come sooner rather than later (probably within 5 years).

However, selling over 39,000 tickets for a Wembley final in May does NOT prove that we have the fan base TODAY!

See this is your problem Dicky Boy you assume because someone doesn't agree with your opinion they automatically are being negative , lack ambition , don't want the club to succeed or expand. That just makes you an idiot to think like that. You're problem is when people don't agree with you and always has been.

It does prove there is the fan base, as it never went on full general sale. Only to fans who have purchased tickets in the past. We just need them in more often, and a nice shiny stadium will definitely attract them.

Last time we got to wembley we also sold huge amounts of tickets and our average attendance the following season went back to normal-the majority of those there saturday won't be seen at loftus road for the next Cple of years so its not a good benchmark to use. Fc uking Amazing effort by rangers tho.

If we could not get more than 16000 for a local Derby we as well not bother got to be 35 to 40000.

Without wanting to be a party pooper (as it's fantastic that we've sold out - well chuffed), but there's an awful lot of other halves & family coming out for the day at Wembley, as well as foreign / northern Rs coming down for the big game. They wouldn't / couldn't be there week in week out so selling our play off final allocation really isn't a true reflection on what our home ground should hold. IMHO of course

Spot on. I'm from Crawley (insert Joke here) and when they played Man Utd in the 5th round away a few years back there was 10,000 there including myself (when the norm was about 2k)

We've sold 39,600 odd and Derby have done 38,413. Good effort on both parts.

I know it's Wembley BUT - Do people really still believe we wouldn't seel out a 30k stadium if we was in the Premiership? If the price is right I reckon we'd could sell mid 30's.

Add in 5k away support and there's your 40 lol

Then again, the vast majority of these people going on Saturday have some form of connection with the club, and have just stopped going for one reason or another. There is quite obviously a far larger fan base than currently turns up on a regular basis.

The club needs to find a way to entice those people to go more often.
