Only downside is he is less likely than someone without top flight nous to get nervous of the atmosphere and become a proper homer

Used to be "red card" Clattenburg but I think he has improved a lot recently, sometimes to the point where he is NOT giving cards when he should be.

Likes to be the star and the man to decide the match rather than the players. I hope that has changed and nobody gets screwed tonight.

On the whole when our players get sent off they usually deserve it, derry at utd was harsh but generally don't think we get singled out any more than other teams.
Reckon today a red or two will appear and may be the decider.
God the wait is awful, left work, at the mother in laws and shortly hitting SB. I always said these play offs wouldn't get to me but ...

Great performance. Ref's get a lot of stick - so credit where it's due.

Credit where credit is due. He was the best ref we've had this season by a country mile and I'm not saying that based on the result. Don't think he got a decision wrong all night. Only thing he never did was give Jordi Gomez a slap, just for being Jordi Gomez!

I agree. he likes the limelight, but he also seems to be maturing as a ref and is using his own judgement in games, including taking into account the occasion and conditions before deciding on what action to take.

He had an outstanding game. Especially when reffing the centre backs on both sides. From where I sit in the Ellerslie I thought he'd given Wigan a penalty first half, was about to send Greeno off, so I was relieved (to say the f acking least) when he booked the Wigan fella for diving.... However his giving them four (?) corners at the end of ET is one of the reasons I seem to have left my voice in Loftus Road..... That was a long, long last minute.

Superb game - one of the best I've seen in a long time. And personally, I don't think he fell for their play acting at all. Credit where it's due ref
