So are you actually saying that spending the most money on signing players, having by far and away the largest wage bill, paying extortionate amounts of money for loan players that have proved to be no better than our youngsters, failing to give those youngsters valuable first team experience so as not to have to repeat the mistake next season, paying a manager one of the largest salaries in Europe let alone Britain, hardly producing any performances of note throughout the whole miserable season, combined with the facts that the vast majority of fans want rid of the manager asap and wished that he had never come in the first place and in spite of all this, we are still just about managing to scrape a play off place, is in any way, shape or form, an example of being competent?

Using the same line of 'were in the play-offs' cannot be continually used to defend redknapp, the team and the money spent.
the chance of the play-offs was the bare minimum requirement and we you look at a team like Burnley who have knicked 2nd with the squad they have, it makes even worse.
You cant continue to use the same excuses when we continue to lose.. surely?!!

THIS, I cant come to terms with fans saying this.. almost like because of this, we should forget everything else.
He hasn't got rid of the sh1t at all mate, they are still contracted. He has just moved them on for this season until they become someone elses problem next season.

The injuries - this really annoys me. Burnley lost Ings and Vokes, yet they come away with a draw and an away win in there last 2 games? The internationals and squad we have, it is no excuse, when you see what Burnley have done. Liverpool played their 1st 9 games without Suarez and were still top in that time?..
its just redknapp trying to protect himself as always, when he says this. The footballs been dire, the tactics have been dire, the players are mainly dire.

This is don't agree with pal. With the squad players at our disposal we should have walked the league really. Leicester have been promoted by some distance but are not really that decent. The whole division is poor and we should be top two minimum. This is what frustrates me. Yeah we have had injuries but still with the players available we should be winning games or at least competing. What I have said for ages is you need a settled side as much as possible. Every game we change 5 or 6 players which is down to the manager. One week someone plays and the next they are not in the squad. Leicester and Burnley are not great sides......but they have the same players week in week out with the odd change. In a league like this one that counts massively.
