No worries mate, I followed what you were saying even if others didn't! Clearly he's still worth a few bob - no one wd be crazy enough to deny otherwise - but big clubs have learned their lessons and have tended to bomb out difficult people (eg Balotelli at Man City). A **** charge, then a drink driving charge all in the space of a year doesn't look that great by anyone's standards.

this is one of the reasons - quite apart from any possible sales clause - why fans were being fanciful when talking about 20m or even 35m for him. a really big club - who are the only ones who can pay that sort of money - wd be v reluctant to take on someone with his off-field reputation.

speeding fines are one thing (not great, but not career ending, except perhaps for a politician) but drink driving and a **** charge - albeit in fairness one he was cleared of - would send shivers down the spine of most top club managers imho.

Most people with mega dough go not guilty and hope mr loophole gets them off, which he does quite a few times as well.
