  • Wigan: Our biggest game of the season so far

I know it's technically not make or break, win or bust, but I think psychologically it's very, very important that we win. And play well. So, biggest game of the season so far, no......??

      Win 2-0
      Lost 2-0
      Won 3-0
      Lost 3-0
      Win 3-1

      Uh oh.
      Better pile on Wigan 3-1

it´s a pity that Wigan are on a "We win when we want to" run at the moment.

Think Derby last month was our biggest game, needed a win instead we lost and went on a 3 game losing streak which ruined our chances of top 2
I should probably write something insightful here

Next 9 matches will be crucial.

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

F@#K em!! All good runs must come to an end Shania. We need to treat every game as a Cup final now.

Not calling you up here, but they wont really. Win two or three and we can play the reserves after that if we wanted to cos we would of accomplished play off status.

agree with 77. this game is the daddy, beat them the we will have the upper hand mentally in a playoff match between us and them.

Yeah, but I would like to keep the form up and finish the season on a high, giving the team confidence, plus most of the teams around us have to play each other.

Wigan, Leicester, Burnley, Reading. Meaning it could all chop and change between 3-8.

Derby seem to have a easier finish to the season, meaning they will go into the play-offs with a lot more confidence.

agree with that. And we would finally be beating teams around us at exactly the right time.

Can't agree with the OP, I don't think it matters how we get our points or where in the top 6 we finish. In fact, I believe the 6th placed finisher has won the playoffs most often.

I guess you're right, but I think that going on a run of wins now, starting against the in form Wigan, would be the best thing that could happen to us. It would breed confidence and set us up nicely for the return of Austin, Simpson and Phillips.

a draw against them, followed by a win against Blackpool, would conclude an excellent week. Have accepted our only chance of promotion is via the play-offs. What we must do after our play-off place is guaranteed, is to play to get the weakest side and that means avoiding Wigan before the play-off final
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
