As angry as we are now, it's time to make excuses

We have Phillips, Austin, Faurlin and Simpson sidelined. Arguably four of our best 6 or so players including our star striker.

If Burnley lost Ings, Kightly, Marney and Trippier, they would be f*cked.

If Leicester lost Nugent, Knockaert, Moore and Drinkwater, they would be f*cked.

If Derby lost Martin, Hughes, Bamford and Keogh, they would be f*cked.

There's only so much Harry can do. Carroll, Hughes, Hoilett and all these strikers we have signed are all pretty sh*t, but if we weren't crippled by injuries they would either be on our bench or not here at all. I still think we miss Faurlin massively. With him and Barton in midfield we wouldn't be getting dominated and outmuscled in the middle every week and the wingers may actually get the ball before the other team have 10 minutes to all get in position. Charlton was embarrassing but until we get most of those four back, get used to it! Finally, Hughes hasn't got enough stick for his performance. An absolute joke.

On the plus side, Traore feels like a glimmering hope. The only match fit player we have that will run at people. Amazing how he has now become our desperate plan A to get any goals.

I started reading this thread giggling but as I made my way down the paragraph I realised the OP is actually being serious.

Should be no excuses had enough time in Jan window to sort it out.

We are a club "on hold"...

          Big future potential BUT...

          - 8 players on loan (most of them average)
          - A manager on loan (looks old, fed up, had enough)
          - A back room team on loan (temporary - you read Bond's comments yesterday ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!)

          Time for some permanence..

NO excuses - with the squad we have we SHOULD be able to field a team capable of beating most teams in the division.

Exactly. On paper this squad should be p!ssing this league & lets not forget with a top manager (apparently)

Problem is we don't play on paper.

Yep. Plus on the whole Austin injury front, we had some time in the transfer window to address this and panic brought in 4 strikers that, even combined, aren't half the player Austin is.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Not only January Hitman, how about last summer when Harry only signed Austin and gambled on Johnson and Zamora as back up.

That's when the real mistake was made.

I´m not sure Fernandes has given him the funds he needed to bolster the Squad, PROPERLY.

Is it that strong on paper...who would our rivals take from our team...very few IMHO.
                            Strike force is basically Austin.
Lack any creative midfield player or one that can get goals.
Defence - still relying on Hill after all the cash splashed out.
Lack of pace, Hoilett should be a lot better but he hasn't produced since we've signed him, so no surprise he's doing nothing.
I know pundits said we were too good on paper to go down and same about us is now being aired about not going up, but is true?

And that ladies and gentlemen is the nail being hit firmly on the head . Yes we've got big players out but the application is not good enough . We've struggled to score goals all season with a squad and budget that the rest of the division would give their right arm for .
