Flavio Briatore could be stripped of QPR chairmanship

As Morris said in another thread and according to a quote from Vital Football...Queens Park Rangers co-owner Flavio Briatore departed Renualt F1today which could have profound implications on his role at QPR.

Briatore, who is the chairman of QPR Holdings Ltd, has left Formula One with Renault unwilling to dispute the allegations surrounding Nelson Piquet Jnr being told to crash during the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix.

Should Briatore be found guilty at an FIA hearing in Paris on Monday (September 21) then that may leave him in hot water when it comes to Football League regulations.

Under Football League rules, any director or investor who owns more than 30 per cent of the club has to pass a fit-and-proper person test.

The following points prohibit a party from being involved with a Football League club:

    * Anyone subject to a ban from a sports governing body relating to the administration of that sport.

    * Anyone with an unspent conviction relating to fraud or dishonesty.

    * Anyone disqualified from acting as a director of a UK registered company.

    * Anyone currently subject to a bankruptcy order.

    * Anyone who has been a director of a club that has been in administration twice during a five-year period or a director of two different clubs that have each gone into administration in a five-year period.

Supporters will have to wait for the outcome of the hearing on Monday, and then the decision will presumably lie with the football hierarchy as to his future in the sport.

Flavio Briatore could be stripped of QPR chairmanship

A LITTLE known clause in Football League rules could see Flavio Briatore stripped of his QPR chairmanship.

Am I the only one who is really worried about all this???

If the FA kick him out-who is to say that the other owners/investors won't follow, and the club will be left skint again??

            They can't.

In it's current state, the club is in no position to pay back the money Briatore has loaned the club. They cannot and will not expect Briatore to walk away on a technicality and taking a personal multi million pound hit into the bargain.

            Won't happen.

Yep - all true - Gianni is Chairman of the Football Club and Amit Chairman of the Holding Group.

What can the FA do? Sure, he's the "owner", but has no paper link to the Chair.

COMPLETE RUBBISH... We had a game that was live on Sky Sports which was abandoned almost at the last minute. It was in the last 15years I am sure!
