    carlton cole -

Free agent from today - been scoring for west ham recently and again linked with us today. Would you take him on his recent form?

I'm starting to think he could be a decent signing. He's been doing well of late. If get him on a deal until the end of the season I'd take that now. Would be a little nervous on anything longer.

I'd take him on a short term contract i think. We need a target man, as Bobby just can't seem to get fit

On RECENT form yes and only on a short term.

But for me recent form doesn't change the fact that he's a shocking player.

He's been a playing professionally for about 10 years and his record says it all ($hit goal record) and if he hasn't improved in 10 years I struggle to see him improving.

Deal until the end of the season would be good for everyone.

Wouldn't have any problem with this signing.

Short term contract with the possibility of another year if he does well.

According to Skysports sources (gotta love them). He wants to stay at West Ham long term, but they won't offer him a long term contract. But Qpr, are willing to offer him the long term contract he wants so maybe tempted to come to us. How true that is, i don't know.

See that's what scares me. Carlton long term on big wages is a big f@#+ off. Should offer him a.deal until the end of the season and see how he does from there. But the worry is the only way we are going to get him is by giving him a longer contract up front

This is why i'm not sure to take it seriously. Because he wants a long term contract, did they just think 'who is stupid enough to offer him a long term contract with big wages' and they automatically thought of us coz we have a history of it. So whether its true or not, i'm not sure. Its believable though when it comes to us

Probably, yes... On the other hand AJ and BZ is both out of contract after this season, I could actually live with CC for the next 2-2,5 seasons.
