Who says anything about 'below market value'? Don't make stuff up.

Yeah I can't see the point in selli g Remy to spurs just to have Defoe for 6 weeks. That's a much better deal for spurs long term then us.

I just seen on sky sports transfer news that we are now 4/1 favourites to sign crouch in the window. What do people think of that, do you reckon crouch and Charlie would work?

No. Yet another past it player. I just don't know why we don't go back to basics and bought Wells.

F**k off Crouch, Yakubu, Holt, Kenwyne Jones etc.. We need pace, we need more youth in the side.

Not another pensioner whose out of date and will last a season..

Take that all day long, If it takes using Remy as bait so be it. Defoe would be deadly for us, even over a short period.
Just chuck in a player worth circa £16m regardless of the money we are offered for him just to get Defore for six weeks? No thanks.

um... according to ssn, defoe won't actually join toronto until 28 feb. so he'll be a spurs player until then... doesn't seem sensible/likely to do all that just to loan him out to us in the meantime.

                      from http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25680333

Defoe, who has played more than 250 games for Spurs, said: "Everybody knows how much this club means to me, I will play my heart out until my last kick."

True. But I see nothing wrong in giving Spurs 1st option on Remy in exchange for Defoe on loan for 6weeks.

Doesn't mean we have to sell/sell for below market value.

Can't blame Defoe for taking a last payday when on offer, but it shows he has lost his hunger and desire imo .....bullet dodged

Lets all move on from Defoe please. That ship has sailed now. I wouldn't even want him for a 2 month loan. That just smacks of pure despiration. Surely we can do better then that? I mean how commited would he be for us anyway when he knows he'd be off in March anyway?

I agree, we've got to move on from Defoe.

I would still love to have him here, even for a couple of months. Even if he wasn't committed, he'd still be banging them in because that's what he does.

But like you you, time to move on that ship has well and truly sailed.

I don't think Remy can go anywhere expect Newcastle until the summer. Didn't they pay 2 million for the season.
