Nedum's inteview pre-season was interesting when he said that there were no divisions in the squad last season, people just looked for them because we were losing. Only thing was that we had a group of new players and no one knew each other. Interesting to see how the "right sort" react having lost 2 in a row. Last season we weren't good enough in my view, nothing to do with people not trying.

Its a fair comment. I certainly haven't noticed any great increase in effort this season. against forest they clearly wanted it a lot more.

O'Neil, Carroll, Jenas and Henry are all better players than Diakite, as mediocre as they all are. For a start they don't get sent off every game. Diakite is a nutcase.

You say "better players" but I remember the game at home to Arsenal and several others besides when he looked very comfortable in the Prem League (albeit one crazy tackle away from a red card). I missed the cup game so can't comment on that and it is clear he has had off-field problems but virtually everyone was raving about him when he arrived (even if we did get really fed up with his red cards). After watching Henry the other night I struggle to see how you can say that he is better than Diakite.

Zamora also had a good game against Arsenal. The fact that Diakite produced a few good performances a couple of seasons ago does not mean that he is the answer to our problems. He has absolutely no positional sense or passing ability and has an absolutely terrible disciplinary record. All he does is get the ball, go on an aimless run and then lose it again. Rubbish player. O'Neil, Carroll, Jenas and Henry are not great, but they're still better than Diakite. Henry had a poor game against Forest, but was excellent earlier this season when he was partnered with Barton.
