As Zeberdee said in the match thread that theory has just been blown out of the water. looked way worse with two strikers. we clearly aren't good enough to play just four in midfield.

I disagree.

We have been very solid in midfield and defence (obviously) and have created loads of chances in most games. The problem is that we have nobody bar Charlie that is capable of hitting the target. Some of our shooting is frankly embarrassing.

That said, most of what we did today was embarrassing......

in fairness we did try a few long range efforts. sadly not many of the shots stayed in the stadium....

2 strikers doesn't mean we'll create more, it's all about supporting Austin properly. 4-4-2 just leaves a massive gap in the middle. Trust me, the extra man is what we need, but it should be Kranjcar in the middle and Hoilett on the left.

First half wasn't perfect but we had the lion's share of possession and despite not making that many chances cd have been 2-0 if Niko had looked hungrier for his chance. Second half we were outplayed in the middle of the park by a team of virtual pub players. O'Neil might as well not have been on the pitch and Jenas was largely anonymous. But for Barton we didn't really have anyone in midfield who looked interested.

It's having players who can't score or create playing 4231 which is the problem; O'Neil for instance. Nico. Phillips. You can play AJ in 4231. He was the only player to consistentLy try to play Austin into the game.

Maybe we need the Spurs lad in for Jenas and AJ in for Kranjcar. We miss Faurlin. Niko is off the pace and O'Neil is pointless. Wd love us to go all out for Ince in Jan but probably Prem bound.
