Austin... Is he clinical enough in front of goal?

I'll be honest I've not been to see us live yet this season so I can only comment on what I've seen of CA on the box but.... He seems to miss a lot of gilt edged chances....

Am, I being a tad unfair here or what....? Great that he gets in the right place to have a chance but for me he doesn't seem to score as many as he should... Maybe he's a confidence player and once he gets his next goal then he'll go on a long scoring run....

Your thoughts would be welcome(unless its petty personalised abuse then in which case please don't bother)....

going on yest game. he had 3 chances and was on target with all three. not his fault the keeper had a blinder.

avg 20 odd goals per season.

paid £4mil for him. great buy imo.
    nsa/cia spy on this..............┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐

          Bloke works his socks off.
More to him than just goal scoring, very much a team player.
Think him and AJ could be a great combo when AJ is fit

Hes a good striker, not in the same league as someone like Remy but more than capable of getting 20 for us in the championship. Good solid signing IMO

                Few things I have noticed:

                * Opponents raise their game against us especially keepers.

                * Since last season up to now, we only managed once to score more than 2 goals (3-1 win against Sunderland last season). I don't know why? Some people may say It's Mark Hughes, but didn't Stoke score 3 goals today? Didn't Spurs use to score a lot of goals under Redknapp. I really don't know where our lack of goalscroing is coming from other than bad luck.

                * Many good players lose their form when they join us including Austin. Again I don't know why.

Charlie works hard and makes the most of the poor service he gets up front on his lonesome, but I've yet to be persuaded that he's the type who can turn a half chance into a goal... Hope he can prove me wrong, mind. He's presently no Remy though, is he? But the gap between the PL and the Championship is huge. A shame because Charlie, methinks, is a hardworking, likable team player, someone valued by his teammates, and the unlikable Remy plays only and solely for himself, not for the shirt he's wearing.....

needs a strike partner because he is very easy to pickup when he is the lone striker.

always gets his shots on target which is a start.. but yesterday should've score one.

As long as he's hitting the target then fantastic, even if its straight at the keeper

With better service and someone to share the workload with....Charlie will score plenty.

He also drops to link up the play superbly........he's like Zamora without the limp and huge medical bills....

Harry imo is not playing to the blokes strengths.

Austin is certainly NOT a target man and he lost allot of headers when the ball was played long.

Against Brighton this was proven, and although part of the problem has been the huge gap between our midfield and striker, he doesn't really aid the midfielders by giving them time to support him. I think if we change the system, even more so as we have a home game coming up I think Johnson must start and Austin and Aj will cause any defence in this league major problems. Our pitch is too small to be worrying about flooding the midfield and I think Barton and 1 other in the centre, can control that area anyway.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Very few strikers in the world, score goals when playing alone up front. By definition, it's harder...

Charlie actually scores a lot imho, as a lone striker. Works hard.

Why we don't play 2 up front is a mystery to me
