People taking offence at something unpredictable is completely unavoidable, no issue there.

The rules of the forum are pretty much standard fare for messageboards, there are some subjects that are obviously more sensitive than others, and it's not even slightly difficult to take a moment to think about what your posting before hitting 'Post'.

Saying the first thing that occurs to you and screw the world if they don't like it, is not a virtue IMO.

Not a case of saying the first thing...its saying something and getting your point across without a lot of stuttering and worrying whether you are going to upset someone. This great country of ours didnt conquer and rule half the sh1tpits in the world by worrying about causing offence. I even shudder to think of this generation back in 1939 when you really had to "man up" and not stand their dithering "well if Adolf really wants Europe maybe we should let him have it, he might have had a hard childhood after all".
