"The kids missed everything from Queens Park Rangers to Conkers".
London Pride has been handed down to us.
London Pride is a flower that's free.
London Pride means our own dear town to us,
And our pride it for ever will be.Comment

Yep I remember going to Barnsley back in 82, we won 1-0. I was 15 years old, and a mates dad used to take us to away games
in his Sherpa van. There was about four or five of us kids and Mick the dad driver there that day. We parked up near the ground and it was
hostile to say the least.
When we got in the away end there was only about 50 R's in there, no lie. Two Barnsley fans kept roaming around the away end spoiling for a row.
The away terrace looked over sparse wasteland and a huge hill. The game was about 15 minutes old, and all of a sudden we heard a "singing the blues" chorus
from afar. I looked up at the hill and there was about two to three hundred R's being escorted down to the ground. They had arrived late... happy days!
Most of the usual suspects back in the day were there, I won't mention no names, we felt safe again.
To top the day off we won 1-0.
We also went to Rotherham this season, another place very similar to Barnsley.Comment

The majority of Barnsley fans are decent people, they have some nasty types but certainly no more than the average
Have been there maybe 15 times and never had a problem, that said I do know of at least one QPR fan who took a beating for no reason while walking alone back to the train station. That can happen at pretty much any away game though.
IF you want a ground that was particularly tricky getting away from in one piece it was Maine Road!! now that was a nightmare on a regular basis and the police were more likely to join in than offer any protectionits New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworksComment
