Harry - "Carlton's a great player, but I think he's going to sign for West Ham."

Carlton Cole, who was released by West Ham at the end of last season and is surprisingly still without a club, is now expected to join injury-hit Championship team QPR, who have been trying to sign him for two years.

We needed him to sign this morning so he could start alongside Austin tomorrow.

I'm amazed we have not addressed the striker problem for over 2 years. If we don't go up this season it will be this that is at the root.

We need a striker to be blunt, as long as its not like Zamora & he sticks around the club. End of the season & leave please
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Been saying for a couple of days now, i think he'd be a great signing, suits both parties.......Be a good addition, if it happens. Good presence up front and i do think that'll help Charlie, if we go 2 up front

Injury hit team, is a bit OTT ......it's only really the strikers. Typical journo sensationalism!

Not really. It's two strikers, JH and Ned. Regardless of their positions, that's 4 key players (alright, maybe not BZ) out and we are only 6 games into the season. I wouldn't say that "injury hit" was an exaggeration.

CC hasn't had a club since May and West Ham already apparently turned him away earlier this month due to lack of fitness. Hope he's bee training in the last couple of weeks!

Good in the air, quite rapid too i think, got about 15 in this division with West Ham, so has pedigree

Add Cesar to the "injury hit" category so 2 strikers, Hoilett, Neddy and Cesar - and that's 5 senior pros (even though we don't need Cesar really). Cole would be a decent addition and would be a threat along side Charlie

Don't rate him tbh, just a slightly better version of Zamora. Anyone know what he was like in the championship for the hammers?

                              Overrated IMO.

Should have signed Billy Sharp in the summer.
