    The Ref

Seemed to be giving us everything in the first half until Barton took ages to give them the ball back to take a free kick. He was then shocking and made it obvious he was trying to get one over Barton.

Standard of refs is quite lousy IMO, first day against Sheffield Wed we were referied by a bloke whos full time occuption is a deputy head teacher.. IMO being a regular ref in any of the top 4 divisions should be a full time job with a worth while salary to match. Personally speaking I think it would encourage people to take it up and improve the country's quality of officials.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Ref was atrocious some of his decisions and one of the lino were just bewildering seemed inept and whilst our performance lacked urgency it was not helped by his letting Brighton persistently foul and generally spoil the games flow !

Barton's card from where I was sitting looked absolutely ridiculous. Banned?

Barton fouled one of their players just before the booking that was worse than he got booked for, think the ref just let him know he knew who he is.

I think he did Barton a favour........after holding on to the ball for way too long.... Joey was raging and threw in a few lateys.

Ref booked him and Joey got his head back in the game.

After be booked him he lost his head until half time. Lucky we didn't lose him.

Seems he was emotional over his mentor passing away on Monday which is fair enough.

Bartons a great player, were miss him at some point this season, but for me he's head and shoulders above any player at this level.the refs have been poor and look at joeys reputation before making an honest decision.joey can be naughty but opposition players play on that, refs need to wise up

The decision making of most officials is of a very poor standard.
I thought we'd seen the worst of the worst in the premiersh!t, now, I'm not so sure.
