Getting on our own players back is counterproductive. It does not help the player, the team or the club. It helps no one but other teams. Do we really want that? You know people are different. Some can express their feelings well through body language, some can't. There are several factors the spectator know little or nothing about that affect each players ability to play well and express feelings etc. It's the managers job to chose which players who should play at each game. This depends on the tactics, future selection, tactics in the 2nd half, condition of benched players etc. Spectators usually know sh1t about these things. If the very same spectators chose booo a player, this could severly hurt the managers plans and also the club.

And if he comes back every week doing the same sh1t job with an air of disinterest. Either he is playing while injured (someone else should get the stick) or he is playing while fit but very poorly without much mobility (His fault).

Part of being a good footballer is not to let the crowd get to you and concentrate on your game.

If fans pay good money to come and see me, paying my 40k a week salary, and then they're not happy with my performance and boo me, I should be able to ignore that and concentrate on my game. If I am unable to do so, then maybe I am not good enough to be earning 40k a week.

If 10k people who are supposed to support me comes to my work once or twice weekly to boo me I would get pissed, especially if I'm already trying to do my best as best as my abilities allow me to.

But if you weren't doing things to the best of your ability and were taking it easy and 10k people came to your workplace to boo you, then you might realise that you need to start pulling your weight and earning your bread.

This. But not everyone's paying the wages. Some of those who aren't want to tell those of us that do what we should do.... That said Sky et al are paying the wages, not those who buy tickets.

It should be my boss(manager) who judges me, not some clueless, not in the loop spectators. I haven't done an empirical study but I would think most people will perform worse if they get booed in their workplace.
