If we are bidding 5 million, Premiership clubs will join in to sign him for that.

Defoe is guaranteed to get anyone goals, even us.

As others have said, he will use QPR to get the move he wants.

£5m? He has to be worth more than that. Love to be proved wrong. Fear we will just waste our time as with Hooper and then not get anyone. Just hope we have a plan b.

Anyone else wish that we'd just go for realistic transfer targets?

I don't mean to whinge and I'm not saying we definitely won't get Dofoe or Assou-Ekotto, stranger things have happened. I just think that we need to learn from the Gary Hooper and Scott Parker situations. If a player is too good for this level then they probably won't end up here, they may talk to us, even go as far as contract negotiations but they don't really wanna be here and will be thinking of us as a Plan B or C. I think our efforts would be better spent speaking to the best young talent outside of the Premier League!

He's more than good enough for other Prem teams. Both are extremely unlikely, and as such, shouldn't we be putting the last two days of the window to more realistic targets, assuming that there is any truth to this of course.

Assou-Ekoto would be brilliant, always rated him. Quality left back

Two good players but if you cant get parker how do you get Defoe + Ekotto? Would have thought a couple of young loans from Spurs might be more on the cards

I see Ekotto on par with Simpson and we got him, you never know.

They'd both be great signings for us but we're very unlikely to see it happen

Anyone think it could be another case of Harry diverting the medias attention while he sneakily gets in a couple of players? Seemed to happen that way with Austin and Phillips...

Ekotto is a possibility, although i can't see them letting Defoe go.

He could do better than us.

Defoe will be nigh-on impossible to nail. A fair few EPL clubs would take him. Always liked Assou-Ekotto as a player. Would be a great signing and plug the gap at LB.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
