These players Hooper, Parker are well known players the idea multi million organisations that are premiership football clubs only act when clowns like us are interested is nonsense.
The fact these players have shown any interest in us is due to Arry, the problem we have ain't Arry but backroom staff who seem to specialise in closing deals for players no one else wants. To be fair though things do appear to be changing.
Clubs like Swansea seem to go about their business much more professionally, Michu be the classic eg, the way no other clubs have come in for him, club appear to sell to players their club and vision really well,Norwich, Saints ....seem to be doing the same.
We seem to take a much more splatter gun approach and you never really have any confidence in the motive for why our players join us...

We are shopping in the wrong market, if a player is worth a fee a prem team will snap him up and if there is no interest then we shouldn't be looking at the player in the first place as he's most likely past his best.

I actually think this is an excellent post and pretty much sums us up to a tee.

However I don't agree with the harry point, he believes he can pull in big names because of the media always boosting his ego. I think most players even his old players who clearly don't want to come but feel they should chat to harry out of politeness show that he should stop trying to sign big name players imo as he's wasted time and we have 3 strikers in the squad 1 of which that is injured and another that plays with an injury. I say stop wasting your time with scott and sign us a blood y striker!

got nothing to do with harry....anyone who thinks that other clubs were alerted just because of harry speaking out needs their bumps felt.......do you REALLY believe that the first time other clubs were aware of SP's availability, was when we had an offer accepted? Get real!

No but I believe the clubs that were interested were biding their time waiting until nearer the end of the window to pursue parker however as mclaren said, our accepted bid has accelerated the whole process.
