QPR have completed the signing of midfielder Karl Henry from Wolves.

The 30-year-old, who can also play at right-back, has signed a two-year contract at Loftus Road after the clubs agreed a deal that will see Rangers pay up to £500,000 depending on appearances and the club’s success.

West London Sport revealed last week that Rangers were interested in signing Henry – one of several players Wolves made available after being relegated from the Championship last season.

Rangers have also been given the chance to sign Jamie O’Hara, who played under Harry Redknapp at Tottenham and is another player Wolves are looking to offload.

Manager Redknapp is overhauling the R’s squad and has been keen to add to his midfield options given that Joey Barton and Samba Diakite are not in the first-team picture, while Esteban Granero and Stephane Mbia are likely to move on.

Henry, infamously involved in a spat with Barton during a match at Molinuex two years ago, turned down a move to QPR to join Wolves from Stoke in 2006.

His form led to him being included in a 40-man provisional England squad for a match against Denmark in 2011, although he did not make the final cut of 26.

Agreed - mbia was poor given all the hype and Barton whilst a good player is a liability - I can see what harry is trying to do here (similar to Portsmouth) - he wants characters and leaders - we need a striker now but I'm sure that's in hand

I was going to say something similar. Not hugely encouraged by this signing but he's here now so we gotta back him and the other lads!
