He's been woeful since we signed him. Everyone in the game thinks he's amazing at holding the ball up, he's useless. He looks for fouls, never gets them. He doesn't jump and he comes far too deep to get the ball when he's the lone striker so then we haven't got anyone up front when we do get in a position. Awful player he couldn't give a toss.Originally posted by 1973 ranger View PostZamora was woeful at best last weekend against a very average back line for Peterborough, Yes it was a friendly but your touch is your friendly or not and his touch was awful.

Too much is made of this 'holding the ball up' nonsense. All pro players should be able to do this well. I'd rather have a striker who scores goals than someone who plays most of his time with his back to goal.Originally posted by Mattyqpr View PostHe's been woeful since we signed him. There's still a job for a fit a targetman more so in the championsip , smaller strkers can be bullied by defenders and often do not worry the center halves and give the center halves an easey ride forwards that can do both score goals at a good return and hold the ball up to bring other players into play if young would be far out of our price range , needless to say they are not needed every game but can be a valued option

Not having a dig mate, but it amuses me when people use the term 'centre half' when no team has played 2-3-5 for decadesOriginally posted by hooploft View PostThere's still a job for a fit a targetman more so in the championsip , smaller strkers can be bullied by defenders and often do not worry the center halves and give the center halves an easey ride forwards that can do both score goals at a good return and hold the ball up to bring other players into play if young would be far out of our price range , needless to say they are not needed every game but can be a valued option

C'mon this is a stupid statement. Not saying he's great, but to say he's on a par with Hulse is laughable.Originally posted by Mattyqpr View PostOn a par with Hulse for me. Absolutely woeful. I'd be amazed if somebody took him off us.You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

WHO CARES .......... Lets just hope you are right !Originally posted by Franky Boy View PostBeyond me why teams want him
A fit AJ would be more of a loss IMO"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

Youv'e watched enough football to know 90% of the time teams play 4 at the back 2 center backs 2 fullbacks ,the center backs that are in the championship are more often than not 6' plus bullie's . BUt you're point of the W-M formation I for one would like to see the the odd game to see if it could still workOriginally posted by QPR Richard View PostNot having a dig mate, but it amuses me when people use the term 'centre half' when no team has played 2-3-5 for decades
