Barton wants a pay-off to leave QPR, claims Redknapp

The QPR manager, who returned to business at Loftus Road on Monday, expects the 30-year old midfielder to leave the Hoops once the club have given him a financial package

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that Joey Barton is holding out for a "payday" before joining Olympique de Marseille on a permanent deal.

Every week he is costing us £80,000. Maybe its best all round we get shot and put it down to another expensive error
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

For me if were going to pay him one way or the other and he refuses to play for us then pay him to sit in the reserves for two years and ruin his career.

Everytime he steps out of line give him the max fine whether its for what he tweets, turning up late, speaking out of line fine fine fine starting with him turning up two days late for pre season there is 60k there straight away

Would be great if the club said with some of the fines they would reimburse say 20 fans season tickets randomly or better still cover the cost a match day ticket for an away game would get them massive kudos

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I agree with West Acton let him rot. Would love him back but only if he wants to be here. But if he wants a pay off I would honestly let him train with the kids

Think his reference to old players clearly demonstrates how he would be a disruptive influence in the squad has come straight back in and is already drawing lines and divides between old and new

I personally think the blokes an absolute disgrace and its got nothing to do with the pay off . An over rated joke of a professional who thinks he's far more intelligent than he is . Absolute div who I'd love to iron out . Hope we get shot of this mug sharp ish. If he wasn't lucky enough to have robbed a living off being a footballer he'd be inside

Truth is , if OM wanted him they would have offered him a deal . Say they offered him 40 k a week , im sure he would do a deal with QPR to pay say 50 % of the shortfall , so we would pay an upfront 1.4 mil for 2 years worth of 10k. TF would snap his hand off for this IMHO . Unfortunately no one has offered him anything! so he has to come back , we are not just gonna pay him up and he well knows it.

I agree, if there was going to be a deal, it would be done by now and he would not have returned from Marseille. I understand that Marseille are looking for a replacement.
