I think McClaren is an excellent signing. Very positive appointment. Top coach and won trophies as a manager and coach. Looking forward to seeing better shape and tactics.

Yep. As a coach he only gets plaudits. Its the management thing he has found hard - not the first coach to find that transition difficult.

Obviously he brings a lot of technical and practical ability that served him well under SAF.

But I think just as important Harry is trying to turn a swamp into a flower bed in one summer so he is trying to stuff the place full of as many good lads as possible.

Mclaren scores highly on both counts.
