Cracking appointment if true. Forget the media dwelling on him speaking in the silly accent, the man got Middlesborough to the UEFA Cup final & won the Dutch League with Twente - he is a top coach and would have a massively positive impact on the club.

Spot on. Plus he's brushing up on his West London accent as we speak!!

Precisely, was a brilliant coach, don't see anything wrong with this at all.

I don't think he's been inundated with offers for manager jobs. Wigan selected Owen Coyle over him.

He has been linked to taking over the England U21 job from Stuart Pierce though, so he may yet decide to that instead, if offered.

Superb appointment by the club. Making all the right moves so far this window. A good steady player coming in, some dead wood gone, a nice big fee for Samba (albeit not official) and now a proven top coach in to replace that Hodges fella that was part of the shambles that was the Highes era. Onwards and upwards.

Would not want him as manager under any circumstances. People gloss over what he did at Boro. A lot of their fans were glad to see the back of him. Yes some positives while he was there but generally played awful football and league performances up and down. Fell flat on his face in Germany, for Ingerland and when he had a brief spell at Forest.

That said as a coach very well respected. Am just hoping he is not waiting in the wings to take over from 'Arry one day.

Think this maybe a good appointment. He done well as coach at Man Utd.
